Me or Mine…. a few months ago I blogged, though it was
responded well I had a doubt which kept building all these days. An incident in
my street affirmed my doubts. There lives a she dog ( right word for female dog being bitch, as its meaning being irreversibly
changed I call she) in my street. I have always seen her moving around
lazily rather cowardly with tail dangling down, even never heard her bark. The
dog delivered puppies and was nurturing those weak, malnourished puppies. Few
days before I was standing near my gate, saw two pigs coming close to those
puppies, I don’t think they were to hurt the puppies , but from nowhere came
their mother dashing with all furry and barking profusely. She almost caught
hold of the pork around the neck of those innocent pigs who were surprised as
me seeing the mother’s reaction. She didn’t give up until they ran away from
that place.
This
incident provoked the other way thought in me. A weak lazy dog shows full
commitment towards her puppies. So parenting is Universal, we humans can’t take
credit for that saying I did that for my son or I sacrificed this for my
daughter. Even a cow, a crow, a tiger or even a dog does that equally even at
times more than what a human does. So as a father or a mother whatever you do
for your children is universally common to all creatures. Stop saying to your
children, I use to carry you on my shoulders when you were 3 years old. Even a
tiger carries its cub with its teeth, the same teeth used to tear the flesh of
its prey.
As
humans we have to be different parenting is universal but reverse parenting
though sounds different will be what that makes us different from other
animals. No animal takes care of its parents nor is expected by nature, but we
humans make a mark. We care for our parents, we nourish them through their old
age and we protect preserve and parent them when they need it most. If we don’t
do this we stand in line along with other beings at times even lower than many
animals.
Parenting
is universal, never claim credit for doing that. It’s just you have done the
job which nature expects you to do. But taking care of your parents will make
you human. Even that will be a part of parenting, in a way teaching your
children what they are expected to do to you.
Be
resolved whether you are going to be in line with a stray dog or be HUMAN- The
sixth sensed and better of all other creations.

thought the other way round
Reverse parenting! This term is usually used in a negative connotation and for the first time someone has given it a positive meaning. Good one! I do think that humans pretty much put themselves on a pedestal and think of them as superior to other species when there is no evidence to back it up. All the qualities that we attribute to human superiority are found in other species as well. E.g, altruism, nurturing and protecting, sentience, pain, love, loyalty. Time and again studies have proven that animals are pretty much equal (in the capacity of the attributes I mentioned above) to humans. We are here to coexist with other species but our arrogance and pride indicates that we are here to lord over others and that they are here to serve our purpose. In one attribute we are indeed exceptional and unparalleled by any one else-the quality to destroy everything around us wherever we set our foot.
